Trained at the Architectural Association, she worked with Richard Rogers before becoming a partner at Future Systems in 1989, where she co-designed landmark projects including the Lord’s Media Centre and Selfridges in Birmingham. Since founding AL_A, Levete has completed the Exhibition Road Quarter at the Victoria and Albert Museum, the MAAT museum in Lisbon, and Central Embassy in Bangkok — work distinguished by fluid, research-driven forms and a strong civic sensibility.
